Joanne McAndrew is an Irish artist based in Dublin, she specialises in landscape, still life and figurative art.

Her artwork reflects her response to the formal elements of composition, shape, form and the fall of light.

You will find Joanne regularly exploring her favourite spots around the coastline of North County Dublin and the east coast and among the inner streets and of the city.

She paints “en plein air” (Outdoor on location) where she finds she can capture the essence and spirit of the environment in all weathers.

Primarily a self taught artist, Joanne has attended workshops and classes in both NCAD and the Royal Hibernian academy (RHA) where she has studied painting and drawing the human figure.

She regularly attends North Dublin Life drawing where she studies the figure from life

 

Joanne took part in Landscape Artists of the Year in 2019 where she painted the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle, England and was shortlisted to the final three on the day.

 

Joanne was awarded the Don Niccolo D’Ardia Caracciolo award and medal for her painting “fruit & Nuts” at the 190th Royal Hibernian Academy exhibition in 2020.
